Mountain View Cottage is five minutes walk from the Dalfaber complex which has two good restaurants, bars and entertainment or dancing, some evenings. A ten minute walk by footpath takes you into Aviemore village, which has a wide variety of restaurants, bars and entertainment.

Sporting activities in the area include skiing, cross country skiing, dry ski slope, curling, swimming, squash, tennis, walking, gentle or rugged, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, pony trekking, fishing, golf, clay pigeon shooting and mountain bike hire. Qualified instruction is available for most of these activities.

The surrounding area of the Spey Valley is ideal for all types of holiday, be it active or just quietly enjoying the spectacular scenery, varied wildlife, birdwatching, hillwalking or mountaineering.

Inverness is forty minutes away by car and has an excellent shopping centre, although Aviemore itself is well provided with shopping facilities.
